While most are employed in private practice in small hospitals, there are increasing opportunities in other health-related fields such as: diagnostic laboratories, veterinary supply sales and food safety inspection. In general, veterinary technicians have become an integral member of the animal health care team. If contemplating a career in veterinary technology you should have a keen interest in general science, an aptitude for math and strong communication skills.
